User Management 2.0 is now live, bringing a more structured and secure way for merchant teams to manage access inside Brink Commerce. The update introduces a refined permission model that scales with growing organizations and makes day-to-day operations easier to govern.
The core idea is simple. As teams expand and responsibilities shift, managing access should not become a bottleneck. This release gives system owners a clearer foundation to control who can do what, without slowing down the business.
The new model is built on four action types, view, create, start, and delete. This gives merchants more precise control than before and reduces the risk of accidental changes. Legacy roles are now fully deprecated. All users have been mapped into the new structure automatically, so teams can adopt the update without friction.
System owners also get new governance tools. They can now review and adjust team access with far greater clarity, and Single Sign-On support, using OpenID Connect, lets internal IT teams connect Brink Commerce to their identity provider. This cuts down on manual account handling and strengthens security across the board.

To make adoption easier, six default groups are included. Each represents a typical operational function, from CX teams to eCommerce managers to systems and integrations.
System owners are encouraged to review their team’s assigned groups and adjust where needed. Documentation and an SSO onboarding guide are available to support the transition.
User Management 2.0 strengthens the foundation for merchants who want secure, efficient operations at scale. It is a small update with a large impact, designed to give teams clarity and control as they grow.
