Sail Racing has built its brand on precision.
Now, the same mindset is shaping how Sail Racing approaches its digital commerce. The Swedish performance sailing brand has selected Brink Commerce as its new eCommerce partner, marking the start of a transition toward a more flexible and scalable platform.
At Sail Racing, every product starts with a clear purpose. If a detail does not improve performance, it does not make it into the final design. That principle, “Total Commitment,” has guided the company since its founding in 1977.
Design, testing, and refinement are continuous. Products are developed through close collaboration between designers, engineers, and professional sailors, with real-world conditions setting the requirements.
Technology plays a central role. Advanced materials, precision manufacturing, and digital prototyping are used to optimize performance across four dimensions, form, fit, function, and innovation.
As Sail Racing’s eCommerce business has expanded, opportunities for improvement and growth have become more apparent.
The setup is evolving to better support the flexibility and performance needed for continued growth, especially when expanding into new markets such as the United States with Avatax support.
To move forward, the underlying technology needs to evolve.

The decision to partner with Brink Commerce reflects a broader strategic shift.
Sail Racing is embracing a flexible, API-first architecture and evolving toward a more cloud-native approach. The new setup, currently in development, will combine specialized systems into a seamless, integrated experience.
Brink Commerce will power core commerce functionality such as cart and order management, pricing, and checkout, forming the foundation that connects the broader ecosystem. Other components will handle product data, content, and customer experience, creating a modular structure where each part can evolve independently.
“ We chose Brink Commerce to gain greater freedom and flexibility in how we build our eCommerce, enabling us to create without constraints. At the same time, performance and scalability were critical for us, and we see Brink as being at the forefront with its native cloud approach,” says Christoffer Iveslätt, Head of eCommerce at Sail Racing.
“The API-driven architecture and vertical scalability gives us the ability to build a modern solution that can grow with our needs, and to adapt each market based on its unique conditions.”

The new platform has not yet been launched, but the direction is clear.
Sail Racing is investing in a setup designed to support growth, international expansion, and continuous development over time.
“We also see that the platform is already prepared for what comes next, including Agentic Commerce, with support for shopping assistants and easy integrations with leading agent platforms. This opens up new ways to meet the customer and evolve eCommerce going forward,” Iveslätt adds.
“In addition, the people at Brink have been an important part of our decision. Their technical expertise and their way of seeing opportunities rather than obstacles gave us strong confidence.”
It reflects the same principles that define the brand’s products, build for speed and performance, remove unnecessary complexity, and focus on what adds real value.
For Sail Racing, that approach has always applied to what they make.
Now, it also applies to how they sell it.
