Indiska, the iconic Swedish lifestyle brand known for its blend of Scandinavian design and international influences, has successfully reimagined its e-commerce platform. In close partnership with Brink Commerce and SHOPLAB, Indiska has scaled down its tech stack, removed complexity, and built a modern, streamlined setup designed to support the brand’s evolving needs.
Founded in 1901, Indiska is a name many Swedes have grown up with - offering fashion, home décor, and accessories through 46 stores across Sweden and Finland, as well as a growing international e-commerce business. Today, that heritage is being matched with a smart, simplified digital presence that’s built for the future.
As Indiska’s legacy platform grew more complex and harder to manage, the team made a conscious decision to move toward a composable, API-first architecture that gave them more control with fewer moving parts. The goal was clear: reduce technical debt, lower operating costs, and simplify workflows.
“We didn’t just want a new platform - we wanted to rethink how we work,” said Adam Andreasson, E-commerce Manager at Indiska. “By scaling down and streamlining our e-commerce architecture, we’ve created a solution that’s not only more efficient but also easier to develop, maintain, and grow.”
The new setup reduces running costs, boosts development speed, and eliminates vendor lock-in, giving Indiska full ownership of its digital roadmap and greater flexibility across the board.
To make the shift, Indiska partnered with Brink Commerce and SHOPLAB - two companies at the forefront of modern commerce. Brink provides a high-performance engine for cart and order handling, while SHOPLAB delivers the central control panel and PIM (Product Information Management), enabling seamless product management and operational control.
“Indiska has such a rich and unique history - it’s a brand that’s been part of people’s lives for generations,” said Kristian Tysander, CEO of Brink Commerce. “Getting to be part of their next step, helping them modernize and simplify how they work online, has been both exciting and really valuable for us. It’s not every day you get insights from a company with that kind of legacy.”
Alexander Fugah, CEO of SHOPLAB, added: “Indiska came to us with a clear vision - and it’s been rewarding to help bring that to life. This project was about more than just technology - it was about clarity, focus, and future-proofing the business in a way that feels genuinely sustainable. And yes, it’s been a lot of fun.”
The new setup is built on a lean and efficient ecosystem, with SHOPLAB powering product management, integrations, control panel, and front-end, and Brink Commerce handling high-speed cart and order functionality.
Around that core, Indiska has built a streamlined ecosystem of industry-leading tools - carefully selected to support everything from operations and marketing to customer experience and content. Each partner was chosen with a clear purpose: to keep the setup modern, flexible, and easy to scale.
With a simplified and scalable foundation in place, Indiska is now better equipped to grow, adapt, and focus on what matters most: delivering great products and experiences to its customers. The brand is already seeing benefits in both speed and efficiency - and is well-positioned to keep evolving.
