Welcome to 2023, everyone! It's time to look back at the past year and all the cool stuff that happened. And While we are more than eager to get going with this coming year, let's take a quick break and celebrate all the awesomeness that was Brink Commerce in 2022.
First, the numbers; We grew in every possible way according to our KPIs. Some of the most notable ones were:
MMR (Monthly Merchant Revenue) and ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) are both important metrics that give us a sense of how we're doing financially. But really, what matters most to us is that more and bigger customers trust us to help them grow their businesses. That's what it's all about!
In 2022, we had the pleasure of meeting some seriously impressive industry peeps building mind-blowing tech for Composable Commerce. We've been lucky enough to work with a bunch of these folks, building top-notch eCommerce solutions for our customers, and even joined forces with a few of them - companies that bring some crucial components to the table. Plus, we welcomed seven new rockstars to the Brink Commerce fam and opened two new offices in Gothenburg and Amsterdam. With such a talented team and a network of partners we can count on, we are ready to tackle whatever 2023 throws our way.
Phew, another year down, and we are still doing our part to save the planet! In 2022, we increased our use of renewable energy sources for running Brink Commerce API from a measly 75% to a much more impressive 85%. That's a whole 10% of eco-friendly energy, folks! But the good news doesn't stop there. We may have emitted 1.5 MTCO2e (Metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent), but we saved the planet from a whopping 11.1 MTCO2e compared to traditional eCommerce infrastructure. So go ahead, if you are a customer, give yourselves a well-deserved pat on the back. We are making a difference together, one renewable energy source at a time!
Last year was packed with some seriously awesome events, and we even hosted one ourselves with our partners HiQ and Wellstreet! The inaugural Pre-congress in April was a huge hit, with engaging discussions (and maybe a couple of cold brewskies too). And in 2023, we will be hitting up events all across Europe and meeting even more smart cookies and companies that are ready to level up their eCommerce game. So here's to a year of networking and learning!
2022 was a fantastic year for our product, Brink Commerce API! We poured in over 25k hours of love and hard work, resulting in a product that's even better than before. As a result, our customers can now access a whopping 160 API endpoints (up from 109 in 2021), allowing them to use data in any way they can dream up. And thanks to our API-only strategy, the average time for new integrations was a speedy 3.4 weeks. Talk about fast!
One of the year's big highlights was that Brink Commerce API is now even more ready for the US market. With tax integrations, local data centers, and a whole slew of capabilities, our customers can confidently continue their US expansion.
Stability was a top priority in 2022, and we are thrilled to report that Brink Commerce API had a solid 100% uptime. Not a single millisecond of downtime, people! And during peak shopping periods like Black Week and the holiday season, everything ran smoothly - no hiccups. Our new customers even reported a significant increase in conversions and better sleep at night. Sounds like a win-win to us!
And get this: during one minute, one of our customers handled a record-breaking 479,000 API requests (wowza!). Customers also sold to an impressive 70 countries. Talk about global commerce!
